Letters

In the letters written back and forth between the Arthur and his sons; Sylvia and her sons; between the brothers; and Barrie and the boys - the words on the pages are so delicate and touching.  Was this type of outpouring in letters just a function of the times or was this devotion unique within this family? 
 
It is such a shame that Peter destroyed the letters between Michael and Barrie!  Is that what happened to the last letter Michael wrote to Barrie that supposedly said a lot about his friend, Rupert? 

Do we know if any letters exist between Michael and Rupert?
