Peter and James relation

I read that Peter grew to dislike having his name associated with Peter Pan. He even called it "that terrible masterpiece". and in some website, it is said that he was excluded from Barrie's will (cause he gave all to his secretary and the Great Ormond Street Hospital). Maybe im wrong but i realized that at the end, they haven't a good relationship.  Maybe it was because it should be hard for Peter to live rushed and he was exausted by being famous or something like that. Or it was because a rift between them happened when he had a relation with a married womand when he was younger...
Does anybody know why?
