Michael Jackson and Peter Pan

Hi Andrew --

I just read your Midnight Musings post in which you mention Michael Jackson, and it got me thinking a little bit....

Do you think Jackson and all the recent coverage of his trial has somehwat damaged the image of Peter Pan and Neverland? Jackson's ranch has long been infamous, and he also apparently has statues of Peter Pan throughout the ranch and has often compared himself to the character.  Obviously those of us familiar with the story and especially those familiar with JM Barrie's life wouldn't let recent events/news affect our enjoyment of Peter Pan, but I can't help but think that some people, especially younger people who aren't too familiar with the play, may start to associate Peter Pan and Neverland more with Michael Jackson than with the story or the author, and see them in almost a sinister light.  What are your thoughts?
