Where did this Barrie quote come from?
« on: September 03, 2010, 01:02:18 AM »
I just saw the quote: "When the first baby laughed for the first time, the laugh broke into a thousand pieces and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies. And now when every new baby is born its first laugh turns into a fairy."

Can anyone tell me which one of his works, letters, or notebooks did that quote come from?

Thank you!

It started out in The Little White Bird, specifically the Peter Pan chapters, but it's more famous for coming from the Peter Pan play and its novelization, where Peter Pan is saying it to Wendy.
