Peter and Alice

Does anyone know anything about the new play by John Logan with Judi Dench and Ben Whishaw opening soon in London?

All I know is that the play opens at the Noel Coward Theatre in Covent Garden on 9th of March and is about the encounter between Alice Liddell (who inspired Lewis Carroll for his Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Peter Llewelyn Davies in 1932 - both seemingly 'cursed' with  their names. An intriguing premise for a play, with two wonderful actors!

Just found this site after several days looking into the Peter and Alice connections. My family and I went to see the John Logan play and were as amazed by the story of this imagined (yet very well researched ) conversation as we were as children with the original childrens' books. The script attempts to portray the 'passionate' relationships as seen through Victorian eyes of adult/child relationships and how J M Barrie took on the Davies family apparently with the father ,Arthur's consent. There are a few obvious doubts over Carroll and Barrie's intentions but the story shows how imbalanced the various childrens' lives became, as popular conceptions of them forged the paths they had to take. It was the extent of public perception that was at the heart of the tale which brings the audience into the story as wanting there to be a child that never grows up but not taking any responsibility for the central characters lives..
