Yes, Micheal did have nightmares. There's an audio on this website of Daphne Du Maurier speaking about him seeing people coming in and out of the window. I think Andrew talks about this in his book, but I'm in a library and don't have have it, so can't point out where. Barrie also had nightmares about being married, if I'm not mistaken, and considering the heart breaks he experienced, there were probably more. He had dreams about Micheal after his death, right?
And yes, Barrie's life (in my worthless opinion, wait for more) had very much to do with it, and even though he never goes into the detail about the boy's dreams (except that they had something to do with the riddle of his existence), i'm sure there's a lot to be felt there.
I haven't read it in ages, but I always loved that first chapter in the novel, Peter Breaks Through where Barrie describes the children's minds and what their Neverlands look like...plenty of dreams in there if you read, I'm certain lashings of the Davis boys and Barrie!
There are some awesome and beautiful scenes/dialogues in the Lost Boys miniseries about Micheal/Barrie/dreams. One where Micheal's a sick nipper and telling Mary of himself as a ghost falling through his father into the water. A favorite part of mine. Also another later scene where he's sleepwalking and Barrie comes to him. Though like any dramaization, it couldn't be exactly what was said, it really bleeds the spirit of this true story out...
