Photo permission for Querist Album Image
« on: May 03, 2017, 02:16:12 PM »
Hi there,

I'm a writer and editor based in NYC and I'm currently working on a book inspired by the "confession albums" of the 19th century. The book will be published by September Publishing in the UK in 2018. I'm seeking permission to use photographs displayed on the site of The Querist Album and The Confession Album. We would need hi-resolution versions. I believe that permission could be given by the person who took the photograph. We would be happy to offer a photo credit at the end of the book.

Would you be able to help point me in the right direction?

Best,

Eve Claxton

Hi Eve,

I gave Barrie's Querist's Album and his Confession Book to Great Ormond Street Hospital back in 2004, along with the rest of my Barrie collection. They in turn sold it all at Sotheby's.  My guess is that the Querists Album/Confession Book were bought by Beinecke at Yale. I made fairly high res JPEG scans of the main pages at the time - around 1MB each. If that's any good, feel free to get in touch with me:  laurenticwave@btinternet.com - otherwise I suggest you try Beinecke ...
