Barrie's friends

I have a puzzle and would be grateful for comment. On my edition of Little White Bird, is a 1902 gift inscription by the women's activist Priscilla Bright McLaren to her granddaughter (Nelly Oliver). Priscilla gives her address as Newington House, Edinburgh - a building that seems now to be a hotel called The Thrums. Bright and Barrie were contemporaries; did they know each other? Well? Did Barrie support the movement?
