Letter from J M Barrie to A B Walkley

I expect you are right about alterations. ... However I am apparently so constituted that I couldn't sit out a month rehearsals if I didn't meddle with the MS. What does touch me a good deal is that you cared enough about Crichton to say "hands-on". Your original writing about it gave me more pleasure than I have got from anything else I can remember said about my plays. And I think this "admonition" after all these years not less pleasing.
