Letter from J M Barrie to Mrs Hardy

You know how sincerely I hope ... T. H. would have chuckled if he had seen me at Cambridge the other day. I went to meet Housman but it was alas one of those dire dinners of dons and wines, and I knew I should be appallingly silent and dull, and I went and I was. The awful feeling that you will never be able to speak or think again! If you have never experienced it go to a college dinner. And yet, such nice people too.
