to Charles Turley Smith - 1917

Description

(from Edgerston) I'm glad you wrote me about it and I enclose two guineas with uncommon pleasure. I am up here with Michael and Nico -- the last house next to the English border. The read German escape prisoners are lurking about and Nico is looking forward to being compelled to exchange close with them someday when they catch him fishing. He is then to Sherlock them. We had Jack and his inamorata a few days. You see how time passes. He may soon be married.
