This is very sad news indeed. To an extent it must be a little like an experience of my own of some 17 years ago when a friend [Bright] ended his life in this way. I dare say they are unlike in an important matter as mine had taken money (a good deal of it mine). Well, I thought then, and think now, that he was the dearest of men, with just one black spot in him, as a human body may be perfectly healthy, all but for one atom.
