My dear Nancy,
Very many thanks for the satchel. I have a decided preference for cross stitch, but cannot do it as neatly as you. Mrs dy M. was too ill to go to Ramsgate, also Peter's leg was worse that we had thought & he has been bedfast with it till Xmas Day. Now he is limping indoors & driving out occasionally in friendly motors. M[ichael] & N[ico] are gone to Hampstead to Dr. Davies for tea. Mrs du M. sent me a lovely scarf & Mrs Guy [= Gwen du Maurer] 3 small volumes by Anthony Trollope. [...] Every good wish for 1914. With love, Dadge.
