Dear Mary,
How kind it was of you to send the bed-time and pram shawl, which will be very useful indeed and which I would rather have from you than from anyone else in the world.
Nico has just lent me his Laura’s pram, so now the son can spend quite a lot of each day in the garden, comfortable and well wrapped up. He is getting on well and I hope you will come to see him soon, and give him your blessing.
Peggy is going on well too, though I’m afraid it will take rather longer than usual before she is up and about again. I do wish you would meet her one day—
With love and many thanks
Peter
