My Poems
« on: August 21, 2021, 03:13:26 AM »
I’m sharing a couple of poems that I wrote on this forum. Please tell me what you think!

The first poem “The Storyteller” can be applied to any storyteller, including of course JMB!

I got the idea for the second poem “Vanished Hands” from The Lost Boys book where it talks about Michael wanting “the touch of vanished hands” because he missed his mother. So I wrote this poem based on some personal feelings of my own.

The Storyteller:
Your words flow into my ears.
The images in my head dispel all my fears.
You reach out and grasps me by the hand
And we fly together to a magical land.
And hand-in-hand we walk
Through a place with fairies and where animals talk.
A place where adventures are the norm.
A place where no one could feel forlorn.
You are always by my side
Through this delightful adventurous ride.
Through scary nights and lonely days,
You are never far away.
Through your words we can never part,
Through your words you are always in my heart.

Vanished Hands:
I long for your vanished hands
To hold me in your grasps.
They say that though we are apart
You are always in my heart
But you are still so far.
I don’t know where you are.
And I am alone.
I feel the only thing to do
Would be to leave and join you.

Another poem, based on the term “Lock-Out Time” from The Lost Boys film and “The Little White Bird”.

Lock-Out Time:
They say the parks gates are closed,
But I can’t wait
To see what lies
At night beyond the gate.
There must be trolls,
Fairies, dragons, and elves,
Talking animals and trees that walk by themselves.
What I wouldn’t give to be in the park at night!
To see all these things must be quite a sight!

Hi! Back again on this thread! Decided to write another poem and share! Slightly based on a scene from my North Wind Sequel Play:

Pool of Sand:
I?m drowning in a pool of sand?
I call your name?but nothing.
I call again?still nothing.
I?m suffocating.
The world is going dark.
A grip is around my arm and my body is pulled.
And I see your bright eyes and warm smile?
And I see the light.
