Winter Half 1918 House Sports by Michael

Winter 1918

Holland Martin had left and gone to Netheravon, otherwise the house lacked only Spiller. New boys: Staverdale, Bairne, Flower.  My tutors had five in sixth form; six in Pop wasn't so bad.
The war ended. So there were a few who had preceded and survived its waging.  I hope the next to write here will draw up the full list of Old Boys who have died in it.  It is a record not inferior to others, I believe.
[There follows a lengthy and very routine account of house sports.  Michael signs off:
Floreat Etona, Floreat haec domus et esto perpetua  Michael Llewleyn Davies
May 1913 - June [crossed out] Dec 1918
This is Michael's final entry in the house captain's book.]
