Description
Amhuinnsuidh Castle on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides, where Barrie and the Davies boys stayed in the summer of 1912. Nico continued visiting there for many years until emphysema put paid to his fishing expeditions in 1974. Sharon and I visited in 1976, when the castle was then the property of one with the immortal name of Sir Hereward Wake.
Ammhuinsuidh has undergone several evolutionary stages since, but can still be visited - and rented, but at what cost I know not, probably phenomenal. For more info, check out:
