Anno, Bee and I visited George's grave in 1984.

I had already been to Voormezeele in 1979, partly to photograph the grave for my book, but mostly because I wanted to find it and "pay my respects". While standing in front of it, someone behind me asked, "Family?"

"No ... just a friend."
