This Movietone tribute to Barrie (with its cheesy closing narration) must have been thrown together at some speed. Rather than going back to their negatives, the Movietone editors simply chopped out bits from earlier newsreel prints. This explains why chunks are missing from the Thomas Hardy statue newsreel as well as Barrie's visit to Kirriemuir in 1930 - see Movietone's clip below:
