And Thomas Hardy a very big friend, was he much older? 10 or 15 years older, wonderful man. He comes top of my list of very famous people I had met. He got slung out of a theatre. They tried to sling him out. Thomas Hardy. He and I went to a rehearsal with Mary Rose. We were sitting in the stage box. He had a sort of big sombrero hat on. And some official in the Haymarket came along. He thought he was a reporter you see. What are you doing in here? It was splendid. I thoroughly enjoyed that. He was most delightful, Hardy.
